It's another family affair as host Eric Dwinnells takes a break from Christmas festivities to talk with his nephew/guest co-host, Tyler Clapp about Sideshow Freaks! Now, of course, freaks is not a very p.c. term and discussing people born with abnormalities on Spooky A S my seem a bit uncouth, but rest assured the creators have nothing but love for most so called "freaks"...Eric has performed in more than one sideshow!

But tonight, we're not just talking about their abnormalities. There are 2 murderers on tonight's rundown! Who are the killer freaks and what drove them to do it? Also discussed is why the freak show went away...and how in some ways, it lives on today!

Specific acts discussed include:
Jo-Jo the Dog Faced Boy
Alice Doherty, The Wooly Girl

Conjoined twins Chang and Eng and Lazzerous and Joannes Baptista Colloredo
Grady Stiles, The Lobster Boy
The Human Pincushion Mirin Dajo
and Ella Harper the Camel Girl

Tonight on Spooky A S host Eric Dwinnells tells you the tale of the mysterious Phantom Whistler of Louisiana! Late at night, a mysterious disembodied whistle would keep young Jacquelyn Cadow up at night. Wolf whistles at first...like they used to do in Tex Avery cartoons. But after Miss Cadow announced her engagement months later, the whistling became much more ominous. It switched from the annoying yet familiar wolf whistle to the creepy sound of a funeral dirge fallowed by a "shrill moan". Not long after, Jacquelyn's mother received a phone call from the phantom stating he would kill Jacquelyn if she went through with her wedding!

Was there ever really a phantom whistler? Or was it a cruel prank? Or maybe the whole thing was made up; maybe it was just a hoax. Eric will once again try to separate fact from fiction and let you be the judge!

Also discussed:

The 2016 Boston Ballet production of The Nutcracker, Eric's former life as a song and dance man, and Cheers.

You know the Andy Williams song "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" where he promises "they'll be scary ghost stories..."?  Ever wonder why he's talking about ghost in the middle of a cheery Christmas song? Host Eric Dwinnells sure did and lucky for you, he found the answer! Turns out the telling of ghost stories was a very popular tradition in England and parts of America until the early 20th century! But why? And how did this tradition fade away?

Eric explains all this and touches upon that most famous of Christmas Ghost Stories, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol as well as lesser known woks by writers like M.R. James and Jerome K. Jerome. He'll even read you the shortest known ghost story in english and tell you about an odd tradition his mother insisted upon on Christmas morning.

Eric Dwinnells is home alone again and this time he's spouting off at the mouth about Men In Black aka MIB! You know the movies and the Will Smith song. Maybe you've ridden the ride at Universal Studios, but did you know real-life encounters with the MIB have been reported as far back as the 1940's? Who are these mysterious men who show up and harness UFO researchers/witnesses? Do they work for a secret branch of the government? Are they hostile alien beings? Civilian hoaxers with a twisted sense of humor? Or are they just completely made up? And how do Dan Aykroyd, Brittany Spears, and Saturday Night Live all tie into the legend of the men in black? Find out tonight on Spooky A S!

Also included:

The Maury Island Incident and Harold Dahl

Albert Bender

Robert Richardson

Shane Shovar and the MIB caught on film

And the strange tale of Dr. Herbert Hopkins

It's a full on family affair as host Eric Dwinnells is joined by his sister, Cindy Clapp, directly after Thanksgiving dinner to discuss family memories! Believe it or not, the conversation leads right into tonight's topic, Bill Ramsey: The "real life" wolf man!

Bill Ramsey claimes that at age 9,  he started randomly changing into a wolf (mostly in the metaphysical scene though he and others claim there was a partial change in his physical appearance as well). He would just feel the changing coming over him and start to attack whoever happened to be handy. Enter renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren from the USA. These days, The Warrens are famous for working on cases/writing books that got turned into movies such as The Amityville Horror, The Conjuring 1 & 2, and Annabelle. But were these two truly seekers of truth trying to help victims of paranormal attacks, or were they opportunists trying to make a quick buck and increase their own fame by inserting themselves into a good story? When will Bill Ramsey's story be turned into a big Hollywood movie? Only time will tell.

Anyway, the Warrens convince Bill "The Bald Werewolf" Ramsey to come to America and have an exorcism performed...see Ed Warren decided Bill wasn't truly a werewolf, he'd just been possessed by a demon that happened to be a wolf spirit. Naturally!

So Bill makes the trip to America...but who is this so-called "bishop" that will be performing this exorcism and will the demon wolf spirit just slink off quietly with it's tail between it's legs?

The election is finally over and some of you are happy and many of you are super upset...but what the president doesn't really run things? Host Eric Dwinnells is looking into Milton William Cooper's super conspiracy theory about the Shadow Government (aka Deep Government) and it's a doozy! We'r talking the Illuminati, The Bilderberg Group, New World Order, MJ16, CIA, and even alien nations all rolled into one! It's going to take a minute to break it all down, but, as always, Eric does his best to give you the scoop!

Also discussed in this episode: Eric's disappointing Halloween and the idea of Halloween uniforms, as well as Eric's advice on how to deal with the results of the election. Hint: It's something he's been telling you for a long time...

Witch hunting can be a fun and profitable business! Host Eric Dwinnells knows these from first hand experience as The Witchfinder General of Salem, MA. Join Eric and guest co-host Tom Cole as they discuss the life and crimes of the mass murdering Witchfinder General!

How exactly did he rise to power? How did he determine if someone was a witch? How much did he get paid for this witch hunting? Did anyone question his cruel torturous methods? What brought his ghastly career to an end less than two years after it began? All these questions and many more will be answered!

Plus: Eric talks about his time in Salem, MA hunting for witches and how he was received there.

Fresh of a trip to The Chiller Theatre Convention in NJ, Eric Dwinnells and guest co-host Fatima Elmi are back to tell you all about meeting Tim Curry, star of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Worst Witch, It and Clue to name but a few of his iconic roles. This was supposed to be a big Halloween show, but plans fell through. No worries. We'll keep it simple with a nice quiet Halloween at home by the fire. Light up that pumpkin scented candle and let's get going!

How about a dramatic reading of Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart for a little halloween fun? If you like it, maybe we'll make dramatic readings a Halloween tradition...

Also discussed, of course, is the conservative christian view of the holiday. Spoiler alert: they aren't big fans...with the exception of Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron!

Eric Dwinnells and guest co-host Tom Cole are back to talk about talking to the dead! Specifically, they are talking about The Fox Sisters (Maggie, Kate, and Leah). In 1849, a series of strange noises started to emanate seemingly from nowhere in the Fox family home. The family could discover no natural explanation for the sudden knockings, cracks, and bangs so they decided it must be a spirit (naturally!).Ma Fox was unnerved, but the younger daughters (Maggie and Kate) thought of it as new kind of game and started to try to work out ways to communicate with the spirits. When older sister Leah discovered she hd the ability to speak to the spirits too, that's when things really got interesting! Acting as their manager, Leah took Maggie and Leah on a cross country tour that last many years.

It was the birth of spiritualism which became all the rage sweeping the western world from the mid 19th to the early 20th century. And it all started with two girls in upstate New York...but was it all a hoax? Were the girls producing these noises themselves? What was their life like on tour with sister /manager Leah? And whatever happened to Maggie and Kate? Find out tonight!

Also Eric talks about his run-in with the real life Patch Adams and drops so BIG news about his official involvement in the Salem Witch Trials of 2016!!!!

Host Eric Dwinnells is dipping into the Spooky Archives to bring you bits form previous episodes that didn't make it into the finale cut of the original show. These bits weren't cut because they were't good; far from it! They were only cut because the show was running long. So it's a joy to finally be able to present this "lost hits" to you! First Eric gives you one more creepy song...written by Charles Manson (of Manson Family fame)! Then he and Tom Cole discuss two more missing persons cases. We wrap it up by talking with Arron Cohen about the Que line at Disney's Haunted Mansion, what happens if you try to spread human ashes at the mansion, Paris' Phantom Manor and Hong Kong's Mystic Manor!

Host Eric Dwinnells is flying solo once again as he brings you songs with creepy backstories. Did you hear about the song "the best" band in the world wrote as a tribute to a fan who was killed in a car accident on the way to their show? What about the one based on a televised suicide? Or the song so depressing it caused people to commit suicide? Or the song that was released unfinished after the singer's death?

Artists covered tonight include KISS, Filter, Blue Oyster Cult, Janis Joplin, Fastball, AC/DC, and more!

On a serious note, there is a lot of talk about suicide in this episode. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, free help is available 24/7 in the USA by calling The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

What is fact and what is fiction? It's hard to separate the two when discussing the origins of Washington Irving's famous short story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and it's most famous ghost, The Headless Horseman. But that won't stop host Eric Dwinnells and guest cohost Jennifer B. Lecesse from trying to figure it out for you!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is essentially this: there is a phantom headless horseman who rides out of his grave each night between midnight and dawn. He rides to where he was killed in battle when a cannonball decapitated him. It is said he is looking for his head, but if he can't find his own, he will attempt to take one from any mortal that crosses his path. His most famous alleged victim was the town's hapless school master, Ichabod Crane.

So was the legend real? Is there really a headless soldier buried at near the Old Dutch Church and did the town fear him? Is there really a Sleepy Hollow? Was there really an Ichabod Crane?  Turns out the answer to all these questions is YES!....and no!

We'll also discuss the various adaptations of the story from the silent Will Rogers movie, to the Disney cartoon, to Tim Burton's "reimagining".

Remember: You can't reason with a headless man!

Who is The Grim Reaper? Where did the image of a cloaked skeleton wielding farming equipment come from? Will Eric learn to pronounce "scythe" correctly? No, no he won't.

Join host Eric Dwinnells and guest cohost Tristyn Sepersky as they discuss all of the above as well as ancient visages of Death, psychopomps, A Christmas Carol, ceramics and why The Grim Reaper so often appears in programing meant for children.

On a more serious note, Eric opens up about the death of his father and the unsettling effect it had on his childhood. This is not something he likes to talk about and, as you'll hear, he debates if he should even bring it up on the show. But, in the end, we thought it was too interesting not to mention. You won't want to miss it!

As host Eric Dwinnells states right at the top of the show, the title is a bit of a misnomer! Not all the movies talked about are all that cheesy, some of them can't really be described as "horror", and some were actually TV specials...but they are all from the 1980's! Often cheesy, sometimes campy, always entertaining, this show has it all!

Things get funky with a musical number in The Midnight Hour! Hear Eric explain why Friday the 13TH Part 3 is the greatest F13 film of them all! Host Eric Dwinnells and guest cohost Tom Cole are seeing faces everywhere! Starting in 1971, phantom faces started appearing on the kitchen floor of a poor family in Belmez, Spain. The faces appeared to be in anguish and despite repeated attempts to get rid of them, more and more kept appearing! Did the midivil burial ground the house was allegedly built over have anything to do with it or is it just a hoax perpetrated for financial gain by the family's son?

Also discussed: Two sailors die in an accident onboard their ship. They are given a proper burial at see...but for days after, the remaining crew and even the captain claim to see the faces of the men in the water and they have pictures as proof! Also, in the early 90's a special aired that scared lil' Eric when it showed a creepy ghostly face appearing on a TV that had been turned off. Could this be why Eric refers to fall asleep with the tv on to this day?
